Dark Run in a track made for .mod file playback in video game design interfaces. Mod files were essential especially during the 8 and 16 bit game periods because space was so precious on a game cartridge. Mod files keep the file size very small and compressed while also giving the composer freedom to do more than they could with MIDI with less space.

Writing music for .mod files is almost like programming music. You write individual notes and commands for each note (pitch bend, portamento, etc.) as an event on an event list. As the music plays back, it resembles what you might see in the Matrix.
